AT NOON PROJECT

THE 6TH KITAKYUSHU BIENNALE 2001

AT NOON, an art project, was organized by ‘SECOND PLANET ‘ when they took part in the 6th Kitakyushu biennale 2001.
At first, SECOND PLANET installed the tower (height of about 6meters) that was fitted four loudspeakers on the top in the entrance hall of the art museum. Time announcement and siren was sounded for 30 seconds at noon everyday during the exhibition.

And other speakers
were fitted to some suitcases and helmets to carry the speakers anywhere easily. They were also carried and sounded, of course at noon, by any people on the street temporarily.

AT NOON also had a web site, daily asking people on the address-list to "tell me the sight you had at noon today". E-mail or replies by handy-phone mailing system could be seen on the site. Received "sights" were also attempted "illustrated" locally by photography trying to find the immediate equivalent to the received "sight", to "see" it, and take a photo of it, and send it back to the sender as a photo.
